100 posts!

and I got my leg cast off this morning! From this
to a soft cast
to a hard cast
to normal! Now that I'm walking again, I truly appreciate being cast-free - as you might expect it's infinitely easier to get anywhere; until you lose that ability for a while, you don't really know what you have. Even though I had to be on them before for a sprain before, crutches are still the hardest things in the world to use, and in hot weather, they kill your stamina. The top-10 things I've learned since this injury are: 10) An itchy cast is the worst feeling in the world, 9) It's impossible to really get good at using crutches, 8) Traveling through the airport on a broken leg is extremely frustrating, 7) You will get out of shape quickly on one leg, 6) The granny-cart at grocery stores is the most humiliating thing to use in the world, 5) Stairs and doors take at least 2 weeks to learn to travel on, 4) Taking a shower requires at least 2 trash bags and a ton of patience, 3) Carrying anything more than a medium-sized plastic bag is out of the question, 2) People can't help staring at your hurt foot, which feels a little awkward, 1) You have to learn to make-do pretty quickly with 10-2.

The first thing I'm doing is working out with all my weights and swimming in the pool today. Yes!!

I can't believe this is my 100th post! It's been a year plus a month or two - and it's Friday.. what a good day.
