French Quarter

I've lived here for 10 months, and today - for the first time - I visited the French Quarter. It was awesome. Minuses: Crowded and hot, Pluses: Diverse, amazing food, great music.

I also witnessed two weddings and a funeral. This is the best example I could find of a "New Orleans-style funeral" on Youtube. It's a very unique cultural experience. It was a little strange to see a wedding completing inside Jackson Square just as the funeral procession was passing just outside it, but I guess space is a premium when it comes to Saturdays in French Quarter NOLA.

Before I go tomorrow, I'm stopping by and picking up empanadas there. Yummmm
