SkyDome, SAT

GERMANY - TURKEY today. I'm cheering on my German team with as much gusto as I can must'ah! 45 minutes in it's 1-all right now, Schweinsteiger is still on fire like f'ing Krakatoa, and Podolski and Klose look like they're speeding faster than Pacman towards a strip club. I just read my alma mater Wake Forest has dropped its SAT requirement. I'm glad, standardized tests are so coachable they're hardly predictive of scholastic ability, and the College Board makes such an obscene amount of money off of those tests it's good to see Wake's leading change in this area.

Prior to last night the object of flags at half mast, the bats of the Blue Jays once as muscular and authoritative as polio legs and wiffle ball bats, suddenly found new life as evidenced in a 14-1 romp against Cincy. One caveat: Watching a game in a stadium where the turf looks like a ragged patchwork quilt of asbestos makes me cringe.
The SkyDome (I refuse to call it the Rogers Centre like those corporate bitches re-named it) could use some more green and I kinda wish we could return to the old '80s turf. It's essentially concrete painted green, but I think there's a cosmetic and a functional case for it: For one the Jays can't hit for their lives this year, and a turf field would enable the Jays to get more hits because the ball would travel faster and farther upon contact with the surface, and even if the bright green looks shitty like all multi-purpose fields do, it's a fuck lot better than what we've got. Just sayin.

GERMANY WINS, 3 - 2!!!
