Sábado

Saturday..

I had to read some Rousseau for class on a Saturday, at least it's been better than Baudrillard. Rouss. says that authority gains its right to govern only through the consent of the governed (see the Social Contract) - on the other hand he touts “the General Will”, literally expressed as the will of "the people" and the achievement of their collective good. Predictably this is a very vague concept and subject to frequent abuse in actual practice. This is all interesting, but I wonder just how relevant some of these classical theories really are today... Oh well, you know what place sounds cool? Bhutan. That's it, I just read an interesting article mentioning it.

silly pants! your blog is very you. it is...very intellectual, seemingly thesaurus-based :), very quote-tastic, yet mixed in with the little blurbs of "yay!! movie" and "yayy!! cooking!" and "yay! sprinkles!" you're such an enigma, mr. aries, but a lovely one at that.

i'm feeling some sonic too, but man, those gas prices are a bitch! i'm settling for some pineapple-mango juice, a la canned Dole juices, instead. one day though, i'll make you try a lemon cream-slush, a fattening-sounding treat that is worth every friggin calorie that is in it. an orgasm in a cup, if you will.

have a lovely day, tiny tim!
